Highway Department
The County Highway Department Superintendent is a County official appointed by the County Commissioners. The Fulton County Highway Department is responsible for all roads, bridges and small structures (less than 20 ft. span) within Fulton County that are neither State nor Highways within the corporate limits of a town.
Mission Statement:
The Highway Department is responsible for approximately 800 miles of roadways and right-of-way that the County Commissioners have accepted into the road inventory. In addition to maintaining roads, Highway employees pick up trash, patch roads, trim trees, cut bushes, mow roadsides, maintain County culverts, replace road signs, work on drainage issues, and perform other necessary tasks needed to keep the roads safe for all who travel in or through Fulton County.
