Cyclical Reassessment

Per Senate Enrolled Act 19 - 2012, starting July 1, 2014, a "general reassessment" of property has been replaced with a "cyclical reassessment." (That refers to the reassessment of 25% of the parcels in each year of the cycle.)

Starting July 1, 2014, assessing officials will re-assess approximately 25% of the parcels in their jurisdiction each year over a four year timeframe. By re-assessing property over a four year period instead of the prior 20-month period, it is expected the data collection will be more accurate and the cost spread out.
