What is the Social Security Affirmation Statement?

This statement must be included on all documents except those that require a social security number such as Military Discharges and Federal Tax Liens.

Also, documents acknowledged or executed outside of the State of Indiana do not require this statement. The Recorder’s Office is a public office where most information is available to the public. This statement protects the landowner from Identity Theft.
