Dear Legislator and Taxpayer:
We hope you have had occasion to meet your local County Auditor who serves the constituents in your district.
As County Auditors, we are available to assist you and our constituent / taxpayers in gaining access to and
reporting on fiscal affairs of county government. However, do you really know what the County Auditor's job entails?
In order to emphasize the seemingly endless responsibilities which rest with the County Auditors and their staff, we
have prepared the following list of duties. The duties range from simple ministerial tasks such as keeping minutes of the
various Board meetings for which we serve as secretary, to the highly technical duties of financial statement preparation
and compliance with federal tax guidelines and programs. The office of County Auditor has evolved dramatically from a bookkeeper
and part-time secretary to a financial manager whose responsibilities impact the financial well-being of the total county government.
We invite you to take a few moments to review this exhaustive list describing our enumerated responsiblities. We encourage you to take time to support
our local County Auditor and the Indiana County Auditor's Association. (I.C.A.A.)
